Two-time 50m breaststroke champion, Oceania Swimming Championships (2010, 2012). Winner 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke, 2015 Pacific Games. Winner 100yds breaststroke, 4x50yds medley relay at 2012 Big 12 Championships. Six-time NCAA Division I All-American.

Tokyo will be Amini’s third Olympics (2012 London, 2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo). He competes for the Kingdom of Tonga and carried the Tongan flag in the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Games. Amini works as marketing manager for the House of Tonga Hotel, which his parents opened in Nuku’alofa, Tonga in 2016. He resides in New York City.

Amini was disqualified in Heat 1 of the men’s 100m breaststroke at the Tokyo Games and did not advance to the final.
