Eight-time world championships competitor (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019). Two-time bronze medalist at Pan American Games (2011, 2015). Four-time silver medalist at Pan American Championships (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021). Three-time bronze medalist at Pan American Championships (2011, 2016, 2017).

Tokyo will be Angelica’s second Olympic Games (2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo). She was introduced to judo at the age of nine by her father, a former member of the Cuban national judo team. She competed in judo while attending John A. Ferguson Senior High School in Miami, FL before enrolling at Florida International University, also in Miami, FL. She is presently coached by the renowned Jhonny Prado.

Angie finished 9th place overall at -52kg in the 2020 Tokyo Games.
