A track and field legend, Tokyo will be Tatyana’s sixth Paralympic Games. Born with spina bifida in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tatyana was adopted at the age of six by American parents. She became involved with sports as a child and made her Olympic debut at the age of 15 at the 2004 Athens Games. Her sister Hannah is also a Paralympian, having competed on Team USA with Tatyana in 2012, the first time siblings had ever competed at the same Paralympic Games.

Tatyana secured three Paralympic medals at the Tokyo Games: the gold medal, and her 20th Paralympic medal, in the 4x100m Universal Relay (45.52), the bronze medal in the T53/54 5000m (11:14.13), and the silver medal in the T54 800m (1:43.16). She also finished 4th in the T54 400m (54.35) and 5th in the T54 marathon (1:40.14). Tatyana’s marathon performance was a new personal best time, and the 4x100m Universal Relay time was a new world record.
